Application form for a new taxi driver licence is currently unavailable

Due to a technical issue the application form to apply for a new taxi driver licence is temporarily unavailable. We expect the form to be available again during the week commencing 6 April. In the meantime, please ensure you have read the Taxi Licensing Policy and the Previous Convictions Policy, and that you have all the required documents ready to submit with your application once the form reopens.

The new Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy [PDF, 0.7MB] came into effect on the 1 November 2025.

Before submitting an application, all applicants must ensure they have read the policy and the relevant appendices, which will provide information such as conditions of licences, the penalty points scheme and vehicle standards.
