The results of South Cambridgeshire District Council’s latest elections have been announced.
Residents headed to polling stations yesterday (Thursday 7 May 2026) when all 45 seats on the Council were up for election.
Votes were counted today (Friday 8 May 2026) at the District Council’s offices in Cambourne. Following the election, the number of seats held by each party is:
Liberal Democrat: 43
Conservative: 2
There were also elections at some South Cambridgeshire parish councils; Fowlmere, Foxton, Papworth Everard, and at both parish wards in Thriplow - Heathfield and Thriplow Village.
South Cambridgeshire District Council’s Chief Executive Liz Watts, Returning Officer for the election, said: “I want to thank all the colleagues who worked so hard to staff 126 polling stations across the district yesterday, and to complete the careful counting of votes today. I’m especially grateful to our Elections team for their professionalism and dedication throughout the process. Delivering an election is a complex task, and we are incredibly fortunate in South Cambridgeshire to have such skilled and committed colleagues.”
