Residents are being invited to attend a free community event in Histon this November to learn more about the links between air quality, public health, climate change and sustainable living.
Hosted by South Cambridgeshire District Council, the Communities, Climate and Clean Air event will take place at Histon Methodist Church on Tuesday 17 November, from 7pm to 9pm.
The event will bring together local experts and guest speakers to explore the impact of air pollution on health and the environment, including the effects of emissions from domestic wood burning. Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn about practical steps they can take to improve air quality in their homes and communities.
The event aims to raise awareness of air quality issues, encourage discussion and help residents understand how individual actions can contribute to healthier communities while supporting wider climate goals.
South Cambridgeshire District Council’s Lead Cabinet Member for Environment, Cllr Laurence Damary-Homan, said: “South Cambridgeshire generally has good air quality, but we can always keep improving. Clean air is something that benefits us all and is part of what makes South Cambs such a great place to live and work. This event is a great opportunity for residents to learn more about how small changes in our everyday lives can improve our health, enhance our local environment, and contribute to the wider effort to tackle climate change at both national and global levels.”
Open to all and refreshments will be provided. To register for the event, visit the District Council’s website. For further information, contact air.quality@scambs.gov.uk
