Colleagues from South Cambridgeshire District Council attended Cambridge Pride on Saturday 14 June at Jesus Green in Cambridge.

Celebrating alongside thousands of people, the team discussed with attendees that were interested to learn about South Cambridgeshire as a place to live and work. The team explained what a career in local government looks like, how the Council is an inclusive and supportive employer and the varying opportunities available to employees.
Joined alongside other public sector organisations and charities, the colourful stall also offered sweet treats and temporary tattoos to get visitors ready for a fun day at Pride.
The response and atmosphere throughout the day was extremely positive, and the Council look forward to attending next year.
Leader of the Council, Cllr Bridget Smith said: “Pride is rightfully a celebration of the LGBTQ+ community and of LGBTQ+ culture but it’s also a reminder of all the people who have walked before us on the long road towards a world where everyone is truly free to be who they are. Now more than ever, it's important we stand shoulder to shoulder with LGBTQ+ people and focus on working towards a world that is a kinder, more equal and more accepting place. Happy Pride month!”
