Foodbanks and food hubs
On the map below you can see the food hubs and foodbanks in our local area (that we are aware of). Please see the written list below the map to see which foodbanks require a referral.
Where a referral is needed, these can usually be made by Citizens Advice, GPs, faith groups (like churches or mosques), social workers, health visitors, or some Council staff, such as Benefits Assessors. Please email duty.communities@scambs.gov.uk to receive a referral.
- The locations marked as 'self-referral locations' do not require a referral - you can just visit the hub during the opening hours.
- The locations marked as 'Trussell Trust foodbanks' require a referral. Find out more, including locations and opening hours, by visiting the Trussell Trust website or asking our team.
- There are also a couple of locations marked as 'The Need Project', which also require a referral. Find out more by visiting The Need Project's website.
- To access any of the Mobile Food Hub stops, all you need to do is turn up on the day.
The Mobile Food Hub is a new initiative, funded by South Cambridgeshire District Council and operated by Hope CIC. It will provide both free and below cost food to anyone that requires it. Future regular stops for this will be announced in due course.
The Gamlingay Food Hub is actively working to prevent food waste, and anyone who would like to support efforts to avoid food from going to landfill is welcome to visit.
Further information on specific food hubs can be found on the How Are You South Cambs website.
We advise checking online beforehand as opening times may vary. For self-referral locations, no voucher is required.
If you do not live near a foodbank but are in need of emergency food and cannot travel, please email duty.communities@scambs.gov.uk.

Mobile Food Hub
A new Mobile Food Hub, funded by us and run by not-for-profit organisation, Hope CIC, is being launched to support communities during the cost of living crisis. Fresh produce and essential items, some of which will be free and others at below retail price, will be brought directly to villages around South Cambridgeshire to help people with rising food prices.
More information can be found on Hope CIC's website.
