Food waste and paper liners
Kitchen caddies cannot be provided at this time, as our offices are currently closed due to Coronavirus.
Please purchase paper kitchen caddy liners from your local supermarket or online from Alina.
We provide free kitchen caddies to South Cambridgeshire residents for collecting food waste to put in your green bin or on your compost heap.
You can collect a caddy from our Cambourne office during office opening hours.
Our address is: South Cambridgeshire Hall, Cambourne Business Park, Cambourne, Cambridge CB23 6EA.
Our offices are currently closed due to Coronavirus. Please purchase paper kitchen caddy liners from your local supermarket or online from Alina.
- Please only use 100% paper caddy liners or newspaper.
- Any 100% paper caddy liners can be used (for example, EcoSack or Alina). They can be bought from our Cambourne offices, online retailers or some supermarkets.
- Paper liners can be bought from our Cambourne offices in packs of 50 for £3 (payable by card only, please bring proof of address) or they can be purchased in packs of 10 directly from Alina for delivery to your home.
- Compostable or biodegradable 'plastic' corn starch liners (for example BioBag) cannot be accepted in the green bins, even if they are EN13432 certified or display the compostable seedling logo, as they do not compost quickly enough for our fast composting process.
How your food and garden waste is composted
Food and garden waste collected in Cambridgeshire is made into nutrient rich compost which is used by local farmers and gardeners.
To find out more about the composting process see the RECAP what happens to waste information.
