Major IT issue

Thank you for your patience whilst IT have been resolving the problems. The majority of our systems are now back online and IT are working hard to resolve the final few.

Nearly all problems have been resolved, although customers may still get a "delivery failure" reply if emailing a Council department.

You can still carry out most transactions on our website. If you need to contact us by phone and your call is urgent we will try to help you. If your call is not urgent please contact us in the latter half of next week as we anticipate the first half of the week to be extremely busy.

We apologise for any inconvenience while we work to resolve this problem.

Bin collections from flats

Currently our bin calendar search does not display collection dates for shared bins within flats. If you need to check when your shared bins are emptied please contact refuse@scambs.gov.uk or call 03450 450063.

Recycling Champions

We're looking for people to become volunteer recycling champions and help others to recycle more and waste less.

As a recycling champion you will be part of a team of over 100 volunteers aiming to reduce the amount of household rubbish that's thrown away.

You don’t need any particular experience or specialist knowledge to become a champion: if you believe that recycling is important and are willing to convey your enthusiasm about helping the environment to others, we would like to speak to you.

If you're interested in becoming a community recycling champion, or would like more information, email recycling.champions@scambs.gov.uk or call 01954 713614.

Activities

There are all sorts of different activities to get involved in and how much time you give is completely up to you.

You might get involved in:

  • helping out at local events
  • distributing leaflets to local residents
  • acting as a focal point in your community for recycling issues
  • talking to local groups about recycling
  • displaying posters on local notice boards
