Wild Minds: 6-week online course

Welcome to the 6-week online course.

So glad you have signed up. Here's a few things to consider.

Please make sure you give yourself some proper time to set up and be comfortable in time for a 7.30pm start, somewhere you won't be disturbed, if possible. If that’s difficult and you have to share a space, consider using headphones.

Carolyn will start the meeting at 7.30pm, there is no pressure to talk, or keep a camera on, whatever you are comfortable with is what matters. Carolyn is an experienced teacher, who focuses on kindness and friendliness in learning and really all you have to do is, make space, turn up and be curious!

The sessions will last half an hour, 20 minutes of guided practice and 10 minutes at the end if anyone wants to share experiences or ask questions. The sessions are private, and confidentiality guidelines will be shared at the beginning of each session. They will not be recorded and attending all 6 would be the most beneficial, but if you may miss one or two, you are still welcome.

Look forward to meeting you soon.

What to expect

Sessions are based in Milton Country Park's 2 private outdoor spaces: the Dell and the Wild Place. Both have a cosy shelter and fire pit which make them suitable for all weathers. Activities are varied and led by the weather, the mood of the group and the time of year.

When you sign up to the sessions you'll be given a timetable of what activities you'll be doing each week. No experience is necessary and you don't need to bring anything for land based sessions, just dress appropriately for the weather.

If the session includes water sports (for example: paddle boarding, canoeing, kayaking or similar) then it's advisable to wear the kind of clothing that dries quickly (gym wear or shorts and a t-shirt). Please also bring a towel and a change of clothing just in case.
