What is built environment?
The built environment is the art of designing and making places.
Urban design involves the design of buildings, groups of buildings, spaces and landscapes and establishing the processes that make a successful development possible.
Good urban design brings many benefits such as economic, environmental and social (including public health benefits).
The Government’s National Planning Policy Framework states that good design is indivisible from good planning.
