Local Development Scheme

What is the Local Development Scheme (LDS)?

We are required to prepare and maintain a Local Development Scheme (LDS) that sets out a timetable for the production of new or revised documents that will set out the planning policy framework for the district.

The LDS is designed to help the local community and others interested in development and the use of land and buildings in South Cambridgeshire to understand what plans we have and intend to produce.

The LDS (approved in October 2018 and updated in 2019) sets out the timetable for the preparation of the:

Up to date progress information on each of these documents is available on their respective webpages.

A number of Supplementary Planning Documents are also being prepared.

The LDS also lists the Neighbourhood Areas that have been designated and where a Neighbourhood Plan is being prepared by the local Parish Council(s).

Please check the News and Updates page for new information.

Individuals and organisations can opt-in to receiving future mailings in relation to public consultations or notifications on planning policy documents by logging in to the Cambridge City and/or South Cambridgeshire District consultation database and choosing the ‘areas of interest’ that you would like future mailings about. When you log in, you will find the list of ‘areas of interest’ under ‘My Details’.
