Local Development Scheme

A new Local Development Scheme (LDS) for Greater Cambridge is being prepared to set out the timetable for the preparation of the Greater Cambridge Local Plan and Cambridge Northern Fringe Area Action Plan (AAP).

South Cambridgeshire District Council’s Cabinet approved the Greater Cambridge LDS at its meeting on 3 October 2018. Cambridge City Council’s Executive Member for Planning Policy and Transport will be considering the Greater Cambridge LDS later in October 2018 once the anticipated adoption of the Cambridge Local Plan has taken place.

Further updates will be published on the websites of both Councils in due course.

What is a Local Development Scheme (LDS)?

We are required to prepare and maintain a Local Development Scheme (LDS) that sets out a timetable for the production of new or revised documents that will set out the planning policy framework for the district.

The LDS is designed to help the local community and others interested in development and the use of land and buildings in South Cambridgeshire to understand what plans we have and intends to produce.
