Call for Sites

Call for Sites

As part of the development of the new Greater Cambridge Joint Local Plan in February and March 2019 we carried out a ‘call for sites’, allowing people to suggest potential sites or broad locations for development. We have received a wide range of housing and employment site suggestions ranging from small sites in villages to freestanding new communities.

What happens next?

Not all of the sites proposed in the Call for Sites will be found to be suitable, available or achievable. We will assess each site which meets minimum size and capacity criteria against a common assessment methodology and publish our findings in a report which will form part of the evidence base supporting the new Local Plan.

How can I be kept informed?

Individuals and organisations can opt-in to receiving future mailings in relation to the Greater Cambridge Local Plan or Strategic Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment by logging in to the Cambridge City and/or South Cambridgeshire District consultation databases and choosing the ‘areas of interest’ that you would like future mailings about. When you log in, you will find the list of ‘areas of interest’ under ‘My Details’.
