I have looked at a tree on the land opposite Manor Farm, 53Ermin Street, Caxton, CB23 3PQ which has dies and I now feel is not safe. A previous neighbour of the land has obviously had a fire near the tree and it has got into the root system and smouldered within the tree stem. This has resulted in the wood under the bark becoming “Charcoal” like. Due to the unpredictable nature of this I would like to remove the tree ASAP under the Dead & Dangerous Exemption. The tree is located on the edge of a small woodland so replacement will probably occur through natural regeneration. The cambium layer totally gone and is now black all the way through.
My client is concerned that it will fail or part of the tree will now fall off onto the new neighbours property causing injury or damage.
I have attached a plan and a couple of pictures of the tree (as best as I could take from the edge of the wood).
