To the West of the lake on the closed Royal Papworth Hospital site is a large Ash Tree adjacent to a building in an area of scrub (see attached site plan indicating, in yellow, tree location).
The tree has been subject to previous reduction work on the lateral limbs.  The tree is now showing significant signs of decay with several major branches.   There is concern that the tree will suffer further decay resulting in significant risk of the tree collapsing on an adjacent building and potentially for the general public using the footpath underneath.

This application is to remove the tree to ground level to avert the risk to the tree collapsing as described above.
