A 20% fee increase was introduced on the 17th January 2018 in accordance with The Town and Country Planning (Fees for Applications, Deemed Applications, Requests and Site Visits) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2017.
In most cases, there is a fee for submitting a planning application.
However for some planning consents, such as listed building and planning permission for a relevant demolition in a conservation area, no fee is required.

Alterations/extensions to a single dwelling house, including works within boundary - £206
Full planning applications (and First Submissions of Reserved Matters; or Technical Details Consent):
£462 per 0.1 hectare for sites up to and including 2.5 hectares.
