Internal vehicle notice
In order to protect the public and to allow customers to correctly identify and report either a driver or a vehicle which causes concern, we have determined that certain information must be displayed inside all licensed vehicles, in the form of an internal vehicle notice.
Internal vehicle notices must be displayed in a prominent position.
Any alternative sign must not be displayed except with the written authority of the Licensing Department.
All Private hire vehicles must permanently display on the driver and front passenger door the name and telephone number of the Operator fulfilling the booking, except where a plate exemption certificate has been issued.
All private hire vehicles must display permanently, on both rear passenger doors, signage with the wording "Private Hire Vehicle - Must be Pre-booked with Operator".
Any alternative signage cannot be displayed except with the written authority of the Licensing Officer. Failure to comply with this will result in enforcement action being taken.
All licensed drivers will be required to subscribe to the DBS Update Service and renew on an annual basis to continue to hold a South Cambridgeshire District Council driver’s licence.
This authority will undertake an annual online check of the DBS Update Service for the applicant’s current status.
Where an individual fails to maintain their subscription before expiry they will be required to reapply for a new enhanced DBS check and register for the Update Service.
Failure to do so will result in enforcement action.
The annual payment is made directly to the DBS service and is taken by card. There is no option for direct debit payments.
