Face coverings
From Wednesday 23 September 2020, the use of face coverings for passengers using Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicles was mandated.
Staff working on public transport and taxi drivers will continue to be advised to wear face coverings.
A taxi driver or private hire vehicle operator will be entitled to refuse to accept a passenger if they are not wearing a face covering.
Relevant exemptions will continue to apply for those with health, disability, or other reasons in line with the current face coverings on public transport regulations.
Please see the Government website for further Coronavirus outbreak guidance re public transport.
