Full time permanent contract.
37 hours per week. Working hours variable between 5:30am to 4pm (typically working 6am to 2pm).
We are currently recruiting for a Team Manager to join South Cambridgeshire District Council environment operations team alongside the Greater Cambridge Shared Waste team. You will be based predominantly at our Waterbeach office.
The South Cambridgeshire District Council Environment Operations department are a small team of around 20 people who are newly formed and looking to continually evolve and improve services to our residents. We are an innovative and proactive team which has a positive and flexible approach to challenges. It is important that you have excellent communication skills to deal with a variety of situations and the ability to work well under pressure and manage a varied workload across several small teams with competing priorities within a blue-collar environment.
As a team manager you would be the first point of contact for residents, managers and employees with experience of handling enquiries from stakeholders, senior managers through to direct line management of a blue-collar workforce. You will be a person who can demonstrate articulate communication skills across all levels, positively embraces change, technologies and continually looks at developing services putting customer service and response as a priority.
We are looking for a Team Manager who has previous experience of service management in a blue-collar environment, proficient IT skills and a good understanding of the skills required to get the best results from a range of demands presented by front line staff and our customers.
You will work in partnership with the senior managers to deliver service for Streets, Watercourses, Envirocrime, Street Lighting as well as support the Greater Cambridge Shared Waste Service if required.
