Summary

2x Project Officers - Climate and Environment.

Grade 4, £25,099 - £29,987 per annum.

Full-time, 2 year fixed-term contract.

Are you looking for a position where you can make a real difference on climate change?

These roles will deliver actions identified in the Council's Zero Carbon and Doubling Nature strategies and help the Council achieve ambitious carbon reduction and environmental targets. This will include a range of projects to improve the Council’s environmental performance, tackling the challenges of climate change mitigation and building natural capital.

As one of 2 Project Officers you will help deliver projects to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, both from the Council’s own buildings and fleet, and also in the wider district. You will monitor and report on performance against environmental targets and  deliver our Zero Carbon Communities grant scheme and wider programme successfully communicating climate change and environmental issues to internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities will include project management, awareness raising and communications, data analysis, monitoring and reporting.

Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably in an environment-related subject, as the successful candidate, you will have a good knowledge and understanding of a range of climate change and environmental sustainability issues. Good communication skills, both oral and written, are also essential for these roles, as you will be required to present complex and sometimes technical information in appropriate forms for a wide range of internal and external audiences.

We are looking for candidates who are passionate about tackling the climate and ecological crises with experience, knowledge and skills to provide specialist project support for this work.
Please read the PS and JD for detailed requirements and get in touch if you would like further information about the role.
