Summary

We are seeking a driven individual with strong analytical and communication skills to join our Policy, Performance and Projects team as Policy and Performance Officer.

The Policy and Performance Officer role provides an opportunity to work within a small, collaborative team at the centre of a forward thinking, driven and green-focussed local authority, influencing policy and reporting progress and delivery to senior decision makers. This is a varied job that provides an excellent platform upon which to build a career in local government.

The successful applicant will be motivated by a desire to seek out opportunities for improvement. Attention to detail and an awareness of the importance of data quality will be vital for the completion and submission of performance reports that allow management and Councillors to make strategic decisions. Good communication and relationship building skills are essential for this role, which will involve regular working with colleagues across the Council.

The Policy and Performance Officer role will also be involved in the on-going development of the council’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) agenda, and will lead jointly on the coordination of our internal Equality, Diversity and Inclusion staff forum. As such an awareness of the EDI agenda is an important requirement for this role.

We continue to work remotely as a rule because of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. As we move forward, more opportunities will become available for collaborative, in-person working at our South Cambs Hall offices at Cambourne, whilst the option to work remotely as part of this role will also remain.

As an organisation, we know how important it is to find a job where you feel valued but also have the flexibility to allow you to achieve a good work / life balance. Our highly valued flexi-time system is just one aspect of the benefits package that we offer.

For more information about this opportunity please contact the Senior Policy & Performance Officer, Kevin Ledger at Kevin.Ledger@scambs.gov.uk or 01954 713 018.
