Based at South Cambridgeshire Hall, Cambourne, Cambridgeshire
We are looking for a Green Energy Investment Officer to join our team. You will need a proven track record of formulating, leading and implementing investment opportunities which cross service or professional boundaries through the delivery of major corporate projects
You will be responsible for managing existing and new projects that deliver the ‘Being Green to Our Core’ priority within our Business Plan and generate an income for the Council. You will also demonstrate an understanding of the impact of this programme of work on local delivery of public services and customers.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
You will be responsible for managing existing and new green energy investment projects. This will include the development of business cases, review of contracts, management of performance and benefits realisation. Working with the private sector and colleagues from across the Council’s service areas you will be a skilled communicator with experience of delivering results.
The organisation has a high level of ambition within the fast moving field of green energy investment, and as such you will be responsible for horizon scanning and scenario planning, ensuring that the Council is able to plan for future changes, take advantage of opportunities and mitigate risks.
You will undertake management of programme and projects commensurate with the delivery of the ‘Being Green to Our Core’ priority within the Council’s Business Plan, and ensuring compliance with all new and existing relevant legislation.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
The successful candidate would be expected to be educated to Degree level or equivalent, or to have at least three years’ experience of working in a similar role. You will have demonstrable knowledge and experience of implementing successful projects that reduce carbon emissions and generate income.
