Do you want to help make a difference during the Covid-19 pandemic? We are looking for a Covid-19 Support Officer. This full-time position (37 hours per week), for 6 months requires the successful applicant to assist with protecting the health, safety and wellbeing of our residents whilst also promoting a successful local economy.

We are looking for someone eager to roll up their sleeves and make things happen. It would be ideal if you have experience working within Environmental or Public Health. Experience of carrying out health and safety interventions and project management would also be advantageous. The role will focus on Covid-19 prevention activities including providing advice and guidance to support businesses, promoting best practice, and assisting vulnerable residents. You will also assist with communication, data surveillance and project management.  

The successful candidate will investigate complaints, undertake residential and business site visits and will be required to assist our Environmental Health Team with Covid-19 prevention projects, outbreak management cases and local contact tracing.

Effective and varied communication skills are essential for this role including the ability to negotiate in complex and difficult scenarios whilst organising / prioritising work to meet deadlines.

The post holder must be able to work flexibly and use their initiative when working jointly with both internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will be required to work on a weekend rota basis and be able to join the team quickly after acceptance of the position.
