We are currently recruiting for an HR Advisor to play a key role within our Human Resources team, working on a hybrid basis between home and our offices in Cambourne and Waterbeach.
As a HR Advisor/Senior HR Advisor you would be working closely with managers across the organisation, translating business requirements into effective HR practices. You would be responsible for providing expert advice and support on a range of employment issues. You will also support the Head of Service in developing and delivering policies and strategies which deliver organisational objectives. In addition, you would be responsible for providing management information and reports.
We are an innovative and proactive team with a positive and flexible approach to challenges. It is important that you have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, including influencing and achieving resolutions. You will also have experience in delivering change management programmes.
As a HR Advisor, CIPD level 5 qualification or equivalent is essential, with demonstrable experience of working in a generalist role. You will also require theoretical knowledge of employment legislation.
As a Senior HR Advisor, CIPD level 7 qualification or equivalent is essential, with substantial experience of working at this level. In addition, you will require advanced theoretical knowledge of employment legislation.
From January 2023 until March 2023 the Council will be taking part in a 4 day working week trial. A 4 day week is when full-time staff work one less day per week (4 days instead of 5) but still get paid the same salary. It is not the same as compressed hours, which is working the traditional 37-hour week over 4 long days. A 4 day week for a full-time employee at the Council will consist of 30 hours. For part time staff, the amount of hours reduced would be calculated via a pro-rata reduction. A helpful way of explaining this arrangement is that staff will need to get 100% of their work done, in 80% of the time, for 100% of their salary. The purpose of this trial is to better support the health and wellbeing of our colleagues, while still delivering an excellent service to our residents.
