Our new Cabinet were elected in May 2018 and have an ambitious plan for the next four years. To support our Cabinet, the Council is looking to recruit a Cabinet Support Officer to provide an effective and efficient executive support service to the Leader, the Deputy Leader and the Cabinet overall.
The successful candidate will contribute to the efficient and effective operation of the Cabinet, overseeing the Leader and Lead Cabinet Member’s diaries and providing administrative support services.
The postholder will be the ‘Go to’ person, dealing with enquiries, actioning telephone calls and emails, organising meetings, visits and attendance at events and ensuring that Cabinet Members are prepared for Council business. Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple diaries along with organising and planning own workload to take account of new priorities is essential.
There will be an expectation that the role will develop as the Cabinet’s Business plan and work programme progresses with the prospects of the successful candidate undertaking more complex and involved tasks. The post is largely office based but opportunities will arise to visit in and out of the district.
Key to the role will be a flexible and responsive approach including accompanying Cabinet Members to meetings and events out of normal hours.
