We are now recruiting for a Business Support Officer to join our Commercial Waste team. If successfully appointed you will have a key role within this team, working to keep the sales team, customer service and delivery of the business running smoothly.

You will be required to provide exceptional support services to the team and confidently handle customer queries, oversee our performance data, work efficiently with Finance colleagues to ensure timely billing and contribute to communications.

As Commercial Waste Business Support Officer you will be the key contact for both customers and colleagues in other departments. You should be confident using your IT skills, learning new processes and following guidelines and be happy to use your initiative and propose improvements where possible.

South Cambridgeshire District and Cambridge City Councils have run a successful joint service operation since November 2016, with a single management and delivery team serving the two districts’ 116,000 homes from a single depot in Waterbeach. With a joint workforce, fleet and support functions, the fully integrated operation is delivering significant efficiencies, better customer service and commercial opportunities for both councils.

Working from our modern Waterbeach depot, our 3 teams (Commercial, Operations, and Policy, Change and Innovation) work together to meet the needs of our customers and drive improvements in everything we do.
