We are looking to recruit two resourceful and customer focussed team players to join our busy Benefit teams.

You will be motivated to deliver an excellent service through the various channels offered by the Council. You should be able to demonstrate the ability to adapt your communication style for different people and circumstances and comfortable doing this in person and in writing.

Your main contact with customers will be over the telephone, you need to be confident and assertive but to able to empathise with the individual needs of our customers. You will be able to demonstrate that you can remain calm and professional in difficult circumstances.  

As we deliver our service using a number ICT solutions, you need to possess excellent IT skills and able to learn new systems easily. As part of a team you will be able to manage your workload to ensure that both the team and personal targets are met whilst maintaining high levels of accuracy. The nature of the work is varied and can be demanding; as such you need to be self-motivated and flexible to meet the needs of the service

Whilst not essential, experience in a Benefits environment would be beneficial together with an understanding of the issues that our customers are facing under the on-going Welfare Reforms.

We are responsible for delivering benefit to around 6400 residents; you will be forward thinking and confident to contribute and identify opportunities to help us improve the way we deliver our services.
