The customer service team delivers the front-line service for Housing Benefits and Council Tax Support. You must be motivated, confident and committed to delivering the best service to all our customers.
To deliver the best service we need the best people who can consistently meet and deliver our high standards. You must display an enthusiastic and positive demeanour at all times, be assertive and confident, be proactive in nature and demonstrate bags of common sense but also, there is a need to display empathy and tact in sensitive situations.
Technology and digital media are becoming more important to our daily business so you must be able to demonstrate excellent IT skills and the ability to pick-up new IT systems quickly.
The role involves gathering information and supporting documents to enable claims to be processed or revised. You need to be able to maintain accuracy while balancing the competing demands of the role.
It is important that you are a team player contributing to improving the service and ensuring the team’s targets and deadlines are met.
Key responsibilities will be to oversee the receipt of document by mail, in person and email. The Council have a electronic document imaging system and this role is key to linking the applications, documents and correspondence to the customer account.
