Potential rural exception sites
If you have a potential rural exception site, it could be used for affordable homes.
An exception site is a site outside the village framework/development boundary which would never normally get planning consent but may be considered where it provides affordable homes for local people.
Register your potential rural exception site for a small affordable housing development.
We are proud of our record for bringing forward affordable homes for local people through the exception site policy.
Our aim is to work with local communities and parish councils to provide homes that the community are supportive of and want to see delivered.
We would urge you to bring forward sites in your village that the community and Parish are keen to see developed as affordable housing for local people; as any site that has support will be more practical to take forward.
Download our rural exception sites leaflet for more information.
