Report a streetlighting fault

General streetlighting faults and LED upgrade 

We will be upgrading the standard streetlights that we are responsible for within South Cambridgeshire to low-energy LEDs and, where needed, replacing entire streetlights as part of this work. 

This work begins is now due to begin from September this year and is due to complete in March 2021. A second phase of works will include all ornate and heritage lights.

Most instances where a standard light is faulty (i.e. not in light) will therefore be addressed as part of these works. However, please do continue to report all general faults via our webform to help us to maintain the lights in a safe condition as not all faults may be dealt with through the works.

Please also refer to our works schedule for details of when works are planned to take place in each parish. This will be updated as works progress.

Report a general streetlight fault

Urgent faults 

For all urgent faults (faults that pose an immediate risk of injury) please call us using the numbers below.  Please do not report urgent faults through our webform as this may delay our response.

  • Monday to Friday, between 8am and 5.30pm, call 03450 450063. 
  • Out of office hours (after 5.30pm and on weekends) call 01354 654321 (note this number is operated by our partners, Fenland District Council).

In the case of an emergency please also report it to the police immediately.

All South Cambridgeshire District Council owned streetlights can be found on the map below and begin with the prefix ‘SC’.  Where a streetlight does not begin with this prefix please report it to Cambridgeshire County Council.
