Water sports booking 2017
If you would like to try one of the water sport activities on the lake at this year’s event you can choose from the canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding taster sessions we have available.
The water sport activities are very popular, so to help manage demand, we made 50% of these sessions pre-bookable. These are now full, however, if you want to try more than one of the water sports then there will still be 50% of the slots available to book on the day itself, bookings will open at 10am, with the booking desk located close to the main visitor entrance of the park.
Canoeing – each canoe can take a combination of the following, larger families will be advised to go out in 2 canoes.
a) 2 adults over 16
b) 2 children between 10 and 16 years old
c) 1 adult over 16 and 1 or 2 children between 10 and 16 years old
d) 2 adults over 16 and 1 or 2 children under 16 (this can include a very young child held by one of the adults).
e) A single adult holding a very young child we would look to put one of our instructors /volunteers in the canoe to paddle.
Kayaking – single person activity
a) Minimum age 8 to take part
b) A kayak can take a maximum weight of 90kgs
Paddle Boarding – single person activity
a) Minimum height of 1.3m to take part
We will endeavour to advise you appropriately and try to accommodate everyone however on the day safety is our highest concern so the final decision is at the discretion of the instructors.
If you want to try more than one of the water sports then there will still be 50% of the slots available to book on the day itself, bookings will open at 10am, with the booking desk located close to the main visitor entrance of the park.
The taster sessions start at 10.15am and will continue throughout the day until the event closes at 5pm.
You are asked to arrive 10 minutes before your session time to sign in and be allocated a buoyancy aid. Every 45 minute session will include a safety briefing and instruction to get you started. There will be instructors on hand to offer further help out on the water.
