Food hygiene inspections ratings

South Cambridgeshire District Council adopts the national Food Hygiene Rating System (FHRS) as implemented by the Food Standards Agency (FSA).

The Food Standards Agency has a website which enables you to find the hygiene ratings for food businesses within each Local Authority in the UK, however you can search for South Cambridgeshire directly.

For further information, the Food Standards Agency has produced a list of frequently asked questions for both food businesses and the general public.

Additional Information for Food Business Operators

As the food business operator of the establishment you have a right to appeal the food hygiene rating given following your inspection if you do not agree that the rating reflects the hygiene standards and management controls found at the time of the inspection.

You have 21 days (including weekends and bank holidays) from the date of receipt of the notification letter to lodge an appeal.

Please use the SCDC Food Hygiene Rating Scheme - Appeal Form and return it to env.health@scambs.gov.uk.

Your rating will be reviewed and the outcome of your appeal communicated to you within seven days.
