Environmental Health Practitioner
Environmental Health & Licensing
Grade 6: £32,947 - £39,105 p.a.
Full time 37 hours per week, permanent contract with flexible working.
South Cambridgeshire is one of the fastest growing most desirable areas of the country and is continually expanding, including building a new town. With first class ambitions for our Environmental Health & Licensing service we need outstanding people to deliver exceptional service who are looking to develop their careers further. Development support and flexible working is the status quo.
We are looking for a highly motivated forward thinking Environmental Health Practitioner or exceptional technical officer, close to qualifying. The candidate must have excellent problem solving skills matched by technical service expertise, communicate a vision of success and generate new ways of working, along with turning commercial ideas into reality.
Working in a fast paced, high-pressure, customer-facing, political and partnership environment you will work within effective teams and exploit all opportunities to deliver a first class, joined-up service first time, every time. Passionate about people and committed to “going the extra mile” for customers and colleagues, your positive attitude and respect for others will enthuse colleagues and be a personal example of our organisational values. Environmental Health & Licensing is outward looking in forging working relationships with partner agencies to improve the lives of residents within South Cambridgeshire.
You will work closely with the Communities Team Operational Manager to deliver a range of community and housing related regulation. Expert knowledge in the areas of HHSRS, HMO’s and caravan site licensing is a must. Planning consultation, partnership working, other licensing, nuisance, drainage and anti-social behaviour would be the icing on the cake. The successful candidate is likely to lead a project on the up and coming HMO legislative changes.
South Cambridgeshire District Council is part of the Cambridgeshire Business Hub, a joint partnership with Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue and Cambridgeshire Trading Standards offering primary authority consultancy services. The successful applicant may also be required to give assured guidance to primary authority partners within your area of specialism.
The question of how far you want to excel and grow in this role is only limited by how far you are willing to push it.
