In order to allow for effective engagement with the communities resident in these parishes, which has been severely disrupted owing to lockdown, the decision has been taken to extend the second round of consultation. This second round had been due to close 15 June but is now to be extended by three months, meaning the current round of consultation will stay open until 15 September.
The development at Northstowe will alter the spread of housing across the parishes of Longstanton and Oakington and Westwick. With three centres of population, the current parish boundaries will no longer reflect a “natural settlement pattern”.
It ought to result in arrangements which will bring about improved community engagement, better local democracy and result in more effective and convenient delivery of local services.
The first round of the consultation is now closed. Thank you to everyone who took the time to respond to this stage of the consultation. We have reviewed the responses received and will be consulting on 3 options during the second round of consultation which runs from 15 March 2020 to 15 September 2020.
