Cambridge Research Park and Cambourne Business Park currently have enterprise zone sites and premises available.
South Cambridgeshire is almost unique in combining a strong entrepreneurial and business culture with a truly green and pleasant land. We are a collection of villages, and people value the strong sense of local community set in fenland sites, natural habitats rich in biodiversity, country parks and our network of footpaths, bridleways and waterways. At the same time Cambridge is in easy reach, and offers all the retail, leisure and cultural facilities anyone could ask for.
We have a motivated and intelligent workforce; over half our residents have a degree. Our high-performing schools and colleges and two excellent universities mean there is no shortage of local talent to help your business grow and prosper.
South Cambridgeshire seeks to provide state-of-the-art facilities for businesses and our enterprise zones offer high-quality, modern accommodation with good transport links to Cambridge, Stansted Airport, London and beyond. They are:
A magnet for central Cambridge businesses needing more space and/or wanting lower rents than the city centre, Cambridge Research Park drew both Horizon Discovery Group and Sepura to make their UK headquarters there.
Its enterprise zone offers production and office units as well as land with consent for mid tech and office use. Nine newly built production units, ranging from 5,000 – 15,000 sq. ft. (464 – 1393 sq. m.) are available for occupation. They include first floor fitted offices, loading areas and generous car parking space.
Cambridge Research Park is situated just off the A10, four miles to the A14. It is located just outside the historic and growing village of Waterbeach, seven miles north of Cambridge and within easy reach of both the City and its world-famous Science Park. A bus service also connects the Park to both Cambridge and Waterbeach.
Cambourne Business Park is already home to Premier Travel, Regus and Netcracker, amongst others. Within the enterprise zone, Building 4010 has outline planning permission for 50,000 sq. ft. of Grade A office space and plans are being developed to take forward other alternative opportunities.
The Business Park is situated 9 miles to the west of Cambridge and 10 miles east of St Neots. It has excellent road links as it is just off the A428, which connects with both the A1 and the M1 for easy access to London and the North. Cambridge is a half hour bus journey away and there are fast trains to London from St Neots and Cambridge.
Cambourne itself is a new settlement of some 12,000 – 15,000 people surrounded by nature trails and open countryside. It has good facilities including a supermarket, library, community centre and schools.
Northstowe is one of our most exciting developments. It will be the biggest new town built in the UK since Milton Keynes, and will eventually have approximately 10,000 homes for 24,000 people. Still in its earliest stages, it is envisaged that opportunities at Northstowe will provide 11,000 jobs, including in office, research and development and light industrial.
Northstowe is being designed with integrated transport in mind and will be well provided with cycleways and walkways. It will be situated on the guided busway into Cambridge and St Ives and will have good links to the A14.
