What is a local plan?
The Local Plan (sometimes referred to as 'The Local Development Plan') is a set of policies and land allocations that will guide the future of our district up to 2031.
The South Cambridgeshire Local Plan was adopted in September 2018. All planning applications are now assessed against the policies in the Local Plan.
The preparation of the next Local Plan is underway. The Greater Cambridge Local Plan, being produced in partnership with Cambridge City Council, will be our first Joint Local Plan. You can find the latest information on its on our Greater Cambridge Local Plan website.
