Adopted Policies Map

UPDATE: Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council adopted their Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Minerals and Waste Local Plan on 28 July 2021, a single joint Minerals and Waste Local Plan covering the two authority areas.

The Minerals and Waste Local Plan sets the framework for all minerals and waste developments until 2036, setting out policies to guide mineral and waste management developments.

This replaces both the Core Strategy Development Plan Document (DPD) adopted in 2011 and the Site Specific Proposals DPD adopted in 2012. The South Cambridgeshire Adopted Policies Map 2018 currently shows the existing sites, safeguarding areas, allocations and consultation areas within these now superseded documents.

The South Cambridgeshire Adopted Policies Map will be updated in due course to include the updated Minerals and Waste Local Plan 2021 allocations, safeguarding areas, and consultation areas and, in the interim, the Minerals and Waste Local Plan Policies Maps July 2021 can be viewed on Cambridgeshire County Council’s website.

What is the Adopted Policies Map?

The Adopted Policies Map illustrates geographically the application of spatial policies within the South Cambridgeshire adopted Development Plan. This includes allocations for development and policy areas to which a specific policy applies.

The South Cambridgeshire Development Plan includes:

The Adopted Policies Map comprises a district-wide Policies Map, together with Inset Maps for each of the major development sites and the villages.

Each set of maps includes a key to explain the symbols and notations. A number of the designations shown on the Policies Map are identified and provided by external organisations – see notes section of the Key.

Longstanton and Teversham conservation areas

There are two cases where the area covered by Area Action Plans means the maps for nearby villages are not entirely clear in respect of the area included within a Conservation Area. Under the plan making system, it is not possible to show an allocation or policy area on the Policies Map more than once. Therefore the full Longstanton and Teversham Conservation Area boundaries are shown on the maps below.
