Swine Flu Update

There are a number of steps you can take to reduce the risk of getting flu and help stop the spread of the virus. Always use a disposable tissue to catch sneezes, throw used tissues away and regularly wash your hands.

National Pandemic Flu Service

The National Pandemic Flu Service was launched in England, in July last year, to provide assessment and treatment for people suffering from swine flu.

With the number of swine flu cases now falling, the service will stop offering assessments at 1am on 11th February 2010.

If, after this time, you think you have swine flu symptoms, you should stay at home and contact your GP who will be able to assess you and authorise antivirals if you need them. Your GP will also be able to advise you on vaccination.

Information for businesses

Emergencies or major disruption can have a devastating impact upon your business. We often think of floods, fires or severe weather but a pandemic can be equally as threatening. Long term absence, or even permanent loss of staff, can have a significant impact on normal operations. Even if your business is not directly affected by the incident, the loss of a key supplier or the loss of customers, can all directly impact upon your business.
