Policing and public safety

Cambridgeshire County Council's policing and public safety pages (This link will open in a new window) will help you find information on planning for emergencies, crime statistics and law enforcement.

We work in partnership to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in the district. For more information visit the community safety pages.

Civil Protection

Cambridgeshire County Council's Civil Protection Team is responsible for co-ordinating the County Council's response to a major incident. The Team works with and assists the District Councils and Peterborough City Council in their response to an emergency in their area.

Under the Civil Contingencies Act local authorities are now defined as a Category 1 responder. All Category 1 responders must comply with the requirements of the act which are outlined in the pages under "Emergency planning".
