Policing and public safety
Cambridgeshire County Council's policing and public safety pages (This link will open in a new window) will help you find information on planning for emergencies, crime statistics, law enforcement and the Cambridgeshire Community Risk Register (This link will open in a new window).
We work in partnership to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in the district. For more information visit the community safety pages.
Civil Protection
All District Councils have duties placed upon them to respond appropriately to a major incident that effects their respective District. Where a major incident effect more tha one District Council area, Cambridgeshire County Council's Civil Protection Team will coordinate the Local Authority response to the incident. The Team works with and can also assist the District Councils and Peterborough City Council in their response to an emergency in their area, if required.
Under the Civil Contingencies Act local authorities are now defined as a Category 1 responder. All Category 1 responders must comply with the requirements of the act which are outlined in the pages under "Emergency planning".
