Post Windmills
Great Chishill Mill
- 14 miles south of Cambridge.
- Built in 1819 the mill was worked until 1951 and restored by the County Council in the 1960's.
- The body of the mill is held up by a single post, which can be turned to face the wind.
Bourn Mill
- 8.6 miles west of Cambridge.
- This is the oldest post-mill in England and is of a medieval design.
- The mill was rebuilt in the 18th and 19th century and has been the inspiration for much of the work by the architect Lord Foster who prepared some of the elevations of the building as a student.

Madingley Mill
- 2 miles west of Cambridge.
- This mill originally built in Ellington, Huntingdonshire was moved in 1936 and rebuilt in Madingley on the site of an old mill that was blown down in 1909.
Great Gransden Mill
- 15.6 miles west of Cambridge.
- Regarded as the oldest post windmill in Britain, and restored after many years of standing derelict. The mill can be seen from the road.
Histon Smock Mill
- 3 miles north of Cambridge.
- This is a hexagonal corn mill, which ceased work in 1937. The mill can be seen from the road.
West Wratting Smock Mill
- 17.2 miles southeast of Cambridge.
- One of Britain's oldest smock mills dated 1720. The mill can be seen at a distance from the road.
Fulbourn Smock Mill
- 5 miles southeast of Cambridge.
- Built in 1808 this mill has been preserved but cannot work. The mill can be seen from the road.

- Constructed in the 17th century, the adjoining cottage was built in the 18th century restored by Cambridge Preservation Society.
