Sports Developments

Sports development is part of South Cambridgeshire District Council's New Communities Service.

Sports development has a significant enabling role providing grant aid, support and advice to the community. It works in partnership with other local authorities, groups and individuals to provide improved cultural and community services for its residents.

The service aims to create opportunities for all residents to take part in sports, facilitate sports development and promote healthy lifestyles in the community.

With the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games fast approaching we also have a number of projects in place to support the 2012 Games and the legacy that will remain.

Sports Maker Convention 2012 sportsmaker

A Sport Makers convention has been scheduled for Cambridge in 2012. The convention will take place at Cambridge Regional College on Sunday 22nd January from 2 - 4.30pm.

Sport Makers is a National Lottery funded programme for people who'd like to make sport happen in their local community. It is part of the Places People Play legacy programme that is bringing the magic of a home Olympic and Paralympic Games into communities across the country.
