Countdown to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games
The 'Open Weekend' has already enabled over a million people to take part in sport, arts and culture events across the length and breadth of the UK. Open Weekend is part of the Cultural Olympiad and is one of several projects underway as part of the four-year programme leading up to the 2012 Games aimed at adding to the excitement of the Games, but also to create a legacy that will include participation after the Games.

The event will again be hosted by Milton Country Park on the 15th July 2012.

Open Weekend 2010
Park Life 2012 attracted over 2000 people, Cllr Charlie Nightingale SCDC Chairman said: "It was a fantastic day and everyone seemed to be thoroughly enjoying themselves, including me. "The parades were enjoyed by all and really captured the spirit and fun of the whole event."Hopefully many people did have a go at something new and really got something out of the event."
A survey taken on the day showed that of those people surveyed:
99% had fun
69% tried something new they would like to do again
62% knew the event was linked to London 2012
The top three activities were:
1. Climbing wall
2. Paddle boards
3. Inflatable assault course
We used the results of the survey to help us plan for the 2011 event.
