Useful Advice
- Whilst living in sheltered housing you should still be aware of bogus callers and the need to ask for identification before opening your door to anyone. If in doubt, pull the cord and check with your sheltered housing officer. If the caller is genuine, he or she will not mind waiting.
- The sheltered housing officer will visit you routinely to check the alarm system and update personal records. This is a routine check but if the timing of the visit is inconvenient an appointment can be made. It is important that you allow the alarm system to be checked and maintained, as your health and safety could be put at risk if the system is faulty.
- You must allow access to an alarm engineer at all reasonable times, with reasonable notice, to carry out any necessary checks and repairs.
- You must not remove or disconnect the alarm system, as this is part of the fixtures and fittings supplied by South Cambridgeshire District Council.
