How to report a repair

  • FREEPHONE repairs hotline: 0800 085 1313 (for tenants reporting repairs ONLY).

When you report a repair please be ready to give the following information:

  • Property address
  • Your name
  • Details of when the Council's representative can gain access to your property
  • A contact telephone number
  • Email address if appropriate
  • Full details of the repair being requested

Where damage has been caused with intent e.g. vandalism, burglary you must first obtain a Police Incident Number before reporting the damage to Housing Services, as this number is required at the time of reporting the repair.

In instances of accidental damage e.g. cracked wash hand basin, broken WC pan, this will be the tenants responsibility to repair / renew.

What happens next?

The person receiving your repair request will inform you as to when the work will be completed. If an inspection is required prior to works being carried out you will be informed of this at the time of reporting the repair.

If the repair is not an emergency you will receive a customer advice letter detailing the repair required and informing you of a date for completion of the works. When the work is completed the contractor will hand the customer a pre-paid satisfaction card. Completion and return of this enables us to monitor and improve the service.
