Planned Maintenance
This is for large-scale works to be carried out at properties in specific villages, on a rolling programme. The types of work involved are:
- Re-roofing
- Cyclical (external repairs: soffits, fascias, guttering,re-painting)
- Window replacement
- Internal Decoration (OAP's/Sheltered Housing Scheme)
- Kitchen or Bathroom improvements (tenant would be moved to another property whilst works are carried out and then moved back on completion)
- Asbestos removal could be included in these.
What happens next?
South Cambridgeshire District Council will carry out surveys throughout the district to determine where priority planned maintenance is required. On implementation of this a schedule of works will be raised for tendering purposes.
Once the contract has been sent out for tendering, a letter will be sent to tenants warning them that a contractor may be calling to look at their property to carry out an inspection of works involved.
Once the tender has been agreed a letter will be sent to the tenants notifying them of the contractor who will be carrying out the works and informing them that the contractor will be contact them to let them know when the works will be carried out.
