  • Banister rail
  • Lever taps

Major adaptations:

  • Level access shower (instead of bath)
  • Ramps (to front/back doors)

How can you apply?

For minor adaptations you need to contact housing services with the following information:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Disabled works required and reason

For major adaptations you can contact either your GP and ask for a referral to the Occupational Therapist (OT) or we can do this for you. Call 0845 650 2150, Cambridge City Primary Care Trust, Seymour House, Seymour Street, Cambridge.

What happens next?

  • Minor works - The Housing department will issue the works to be done within 21 working days.
  • Major works - The Housing department will await a report from the OT, which includes sketch diagram of the works involved.

Once this report is received it takes approximately 3-4 months for the plans to be drawn up from the sketch.

Once plans have been agreed the works will be ordered with one of our approved contractors. The Housing department will contact you to inform you that contractors will be arranging to carry out the works.
