Strategic Housing Market Assessment (SHMA)

This authority is participating in a Sub Regional SHMA in line with guidance recently published by the government. This study was commissioned from the County Council Research Group by all of the local authorities in the sub region, in partnership with other interested agencies. The specification for the project conforms to the 11 criteria listed by the government as the test for a "fit for purpose" assessment.

The document published in June 2008 will be used to help to inform the contents of an Affordable Housing Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) which will be prepared as part of the Local Development Framework process during 2009.
