The National Affordable Housing Programme (NAHP)

Grant aid is available to both housing associations and (from 2006) private developers to provide affordable housing that meets the investment plans proposed by the Regional Housing Boards. The funding is awarded following a competitive bidding process run by the Housing Corporation, with successful bids approved by the Deputy Prime Minister. All of the expenditure on a range of properties including low cost home ownership, social rented units, key worker homes and homes for people with special needs, is collectively known as the NAHP.

Bids for the next round of the National Affordable Housing Programme 2008-11 have been submitted by RSL's to the Housing Corporation in November 2007. The Housing Development Team are now in discussions with the Housing Corporation on prioritisation of schemes for the Cambridge Sub Region and it is anticipated that the outcome of the successful bids will be announced sometime in the Spring 2008. These will be published as soon as we receive confirmation.
