What are your repairs and maintenance responsibilities?

  • The inside of your flat, maisonette or bungalow, and any service pipes and cables that serve your property only, are your responsibility.
  • This includes items such as heating, internal doors, plumbing pipework and decoration.

What are South Cambridgeshire District Council's repairs and maintenance responsibilities?

  • We will keep the structure and exterior of the building and the common parts in repair.
  • This includes roofs, drains, windows, external doors, communal lighting and shared paths.
  • We will carry out the repairs as necessary, and you will be charged a share of the cost of these works as part of your Service Charge, depending on the number of properties within the block of flats or within the sheltered scheme.
  • You will receive a yearly statement to show what you will be charged at the end of the year.
