Good news on plastic bottles!

In October 2008 South Cambridgeshire District Council started collecting plastic bottles of all shapes and sizes as part of the green box recycling scheme. Plastic bottles are collected along with your paper, cans, glass bottles and jars.

Which plastic bottles can you recycle?

Plastic items that are bottle shaped can be recycled

You can put all your plastic bottles in the green box for recycling.

Remember! If it's bottle-shaped and made from plastic you can put it in your green box for recycling.

Which plastics can't you recycle?

Plastics items that are not bottle shaped cannot be recycled

Unfortunately there are no cost effective recycling facilities available locally at this time for other plastics such as yoghurt pots, food trays (including fruit trays) and plastic film. Please do not place these items in the green box.
