There is no location map on each application.

The new pages do not, as standard, include a map on the webpage. However, location maps can be found with all other application documentation under the "documents" tab.

We're looking to the possibilities of providing mapping on the webpage in future and will provide further information as soon as possible.

I can't find plans/documents.

These are located under the "Documents" tab.

If there are no plans available here, please contact the service directly to receive any information required.

I can't find decision details.

The date and a summary of the decision are located under the "Decision" tab.

A copy of the decision notice, setting out conditions of consent or reasons for refusal, is located under the "Documents" tab.

The application search pages won't load.

During periods of high website traffic the web pages can be slow to load, or occasionally "time out".

If you experience such issues, please try again later.

I can't find an application when searching by partial reference number.

The application number field uses a 'wildcard' (in this case a *) to allow you to search via partial reference. Examples: S/*/10/*, *1000*, S/28*

If you don't know the full application reference or are unsure, please try using the wildcard before and after the information you do know to be correct.

I can't find any applications when searching by date. The date search boxes shouldn't be format sensitive. However, by clicking on the calendar icons you can select the date of interest to automically fill the box for you.

Why do I now have to register to search for a planning application?

Registration is not compulsory. To search for, or comment on, an application please use the links provided in the second box on the application search 'home' page.

Registration allows additional functions, such as the ability to receive automatic notifications of applications of interest, or to submit pre-application or enforcement enquiries directly to us.

When commenting on an application, or submitting an enforcement complaint or pre-application enquiry, I don't have enough space.

The comments box is limited to 255 characters.

If you wish to submit a longer representation, you will need to compose a letter.

Please see the User Guide to Submitting a Representation for assistance, including advice on finding your address and how to attach document.

In addition to the above advice, we have produced a user guide, to assist you in making the best use of the site.
